Limit your exposure to hay fever

If you can identify the allergen causing your hay fever symptoms, it makes sense to minimize your exposure hay fever.

Be sure not to assume that your hay fever is a response to pollens from the outdoors – many cases of allergy are actually triggered by household mold spores, which may be released by unseen molds in damp parts of the home such as pot plants or bathrooms.

Pets, such as cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs may also cause allergic reactions which might be mistaken for hay fever, especially if the pet molts on a seasonal basis.

So, as sad as it is, to limit your exposure, you may actually have to keep your pets outdoors much of the time, or during the time that they are molting.

Alternatively, or in addition, you may consider purchasing a good quality air purifier to help with relieving the worst of your allergy and/or hay fever symptoms.
