Austin air purifiers - removing a wide variety of pollutants

Were it not for the wife’s founder of Austin Air Systems, many people would not have the benefit of Austin air purifiers today. How come? Well, for years she had serious breathing problems, and nothing seemed to help – diet changes, nor medications brought any relief.
So the company’s founder decided to improve the indoor air in the house by building an air purifier – it turned out to be the first of many Austin air purifiers.

Over the years Austin has engineered numerous product innovations in it’s Austin air purifiers, and is now a dominant player in the industry.

Austin air purifiers always have the following filters standard:

  • large outer filter - traps large airborne particles, lint and hair
  • pre-filter - protects the HEPA filter
  • HEPA filter - removes harmful airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns.

In addition, Austin air purifiers also feature another pre-filter, that is either made from activated carbon, carbon/zeolite, or military grade carbon, and depending on the filter, can eliminate odors, smoke, and very small particles to a different degree.

So in effect the consumer has the choice between three different types of Austin air purifier:

  • The standard type – the Health Mate – is a good choice for offices and homes. It can remove a wide variety of particles, including pollens, dust, dander, odors, and chemical vapors.
  • The Health Mate Plus uses a carbon/zeolite mix and potassium iodide , and can in addition remove volatile organic chemicals, and is recommended for those who have chemical sensitivity.
  • The Allergy Machine combines the gas trapping ability of military carbon cloth and HEPA's particle filtration, and is ideal for allergy/asthma sufferers.

Each type of Austin air purifier comes in two sizes, and can either clean up to 1,500 square feet, or up to 700 feet.

All Austin air purifiers are all made of steel, which makes them very durable. In contrast to some other brands, Austin do not use plastics, nor do they use sprayed on paint, so their air purifiers will not emit harmful gases.

Austin also pride themselves on the high-velocity airflow of it’s air purifiers, which creates a clean air pocket around the user, and is quite noticeable when compared with other brands.

For a HEPA air purifier, Austin air purifiers are relatively cheap to operate. If the air purifier is run continuously for the whole year, the electricity cost will be about $87. HEPA filters are notoriously expensive, but the good news is that the company guarantees that the filter under normal residential use can be expected to last for five years.

All Austin air purifiers come with an extensive 5 year warranty.
