Oreck air cleaner – a good quality multi purpose air purifier that will not cost you an arm or a leg

Founded in 1963 by David Oreck, the Oreck Corporation became quickly known for the excellent vacuum cleaners that it supplied to the hotel industry. After a short time, hotel personnel asked to buy the Oreck cleaners to vacuum their own houses, and the rest is history.

An Oreck air cleaner covers the whole spectrum of particle sizes from 0.1 micron upwards:

• Negative ion generator freshens the air

The Oreck air cleaner has sufficient capacity to clean a 30’ by 30’ area every hour, which should cover even the largest living room.

The Oreck air cleaner requires only a small wattage, which makes it cheap to run continuously – recommended if you are really serious about purifying the air in your house. Only the carbon filter needs replacing, but use of the filter is optional.

There are two Oreck air cleaner models available, the Super Air 7 and the Oreck XL Professional. The Super Air 7 is about a $150 dollars cheaper, but:

• has a shorter warranty, 1 year versus 3 years,
• in contrast to the Oreck XL Professional, is not guaranteed to destroy 96% of acteria, viruses, molds and fungi,
• does not have Silence Technology, so is somewhat noisier
